Final front cover

This is my final front cover. I have added more sub headings and also worded sub headings different. I've also added a selling line 'voted number 1 rap magazine of the year!'. I am very happy with my outcome and i think this looks professional. 

Double page spread- First draft

This is my first draft of my double page spread. I am not that keen on my first draft becuase i think it looks very plain and boring. In my next draft i will add a bit more colour too it and a few more images.

In this double page spread article 'vibe magazine' have featured Usher a stereotypical black male r&b artist to which vibes audience will be very familiar with.

The image on the left hand side shows usher in a denim shirt which gives him a more casual look. The shirt is made by G STAR which is a designer company that produces fashionable urban clothing. This fits in well with the stereotype usher is portraying. He is also wearing a watch and smoking a cigar which portrays wealth. Usher is looking away from the reader of the magazine which then makes the audience portray him as a superior persona. 

The quote on the first page 'Michael Jackson was the greatest entertainer that ever lived. I just want to be the greatest entertainer living' is in a different more larger font than the rest of the text this attracts the readers eye. The quote is front of smoke from the cigar, it surrounds Usher and lightens his face. 

The article is set out in columns of questions asked, each question asked will have its own column to make it less confusing for the reader.

On the first page of the double page spread NME have used a picture of Dizzie Rascal which relates to the picture on the front cover. 

The second page of the double page spread has the story of the main feature  A big bold headline is used to capture the audiences eye, as well as the crafty phrasing, instead of writing 'from rags to riches' they have used 'from tags to riches' which bring familiarity to the audience reading. The article is laid out in four columns the left side of the column is flush. At the bottom of the second page they have also included images of objects in relation to the style of the article.

A simple colour scheme is used and the colours are kept to a minimum. One large image is used which takes up a whole page and sometime bleeds between 2 pages (link the 2 papers together). Sometimes the image is  across the whole double page spread with all the text on the picture. quotes are used in the headline on the picture or in the stand first or to break up the text. Stand first introduces the article, under the headline (often includes the journalists name). Drop capital used at the start of the article is used to show the reader were to start. Other techniques used include bold texts, slightly bigger type size and capitals for the first few words. The headline is sometimes used styleised fonts, headlines are used to draw the reader in but doesn't tell them what the article is about (that is done by the stand first . The byline (who wrote the article) is stated under the header. The story is arranges in columns 2-4. The strap line is at the top this tells us what the article is about. The article is usually written informally and the personality of the journalist.
